About Magnolia in Bloom

We are a bridal design studio in Melbourne, Australia. We design and create exquisite handmade bridal accessories such as headpieces, veils, boleros and waistbands from high quality silk fabrics. Besides celebrating our skills, we are trying to pay tribute to our gracious childhood memories through personal experiences and feelings. In fact, they are embedded in each curated piece; our pieces are reflections of our hopes and dreams. At “magnolia in bloom”, authenticity is hidden in details and we pride ourselves for our transparency and quality. Magnolia in Bloom was founded in 2023 by two cousins Roshy and Halleh in Melbourne, Australia.

The Vision

Once upon a time there was a little magnolia in front of my balcony. As I grew older, my magnolia turned in to an ethereal enormous tree blooming every year creating a breathtaking view for me. The exquisite fragrance of magnolia coming through my window while I was studying is an indelible part of my life and this is how “Magnolia in Bloom” was born. At “Magnolia in Bloom”, I am trying to create the same graceful impression on your wedding look through our meticulously hand crafted pieces which are adorned with various embellishments inspired by intangible craftsmanship heritage around the globe. “Magnolia in Bloom” is our emancipation, we hope it becomes your acclamation.

Creating anything aesthetically appealing has been the joy of my life in the past 30 years and I have been experimenting in different media to achieve that feeling; however, flowers have undoubtedly been my prominent medium. Twisting and swirling often draw my attention and they play an important role in my designs. I always try to free myself from everything as I design and execute; being free helps me finding my authentic self, while creating itself is emancipating. Thus my sense of individuality and creativity are inevitably related. Creating a piece starts with a blurred image, a dream and as I move forward that image gradually become more transparent. The end point is where satisfaction hits, when I don’t want to change anything.

Our Approach

At ”Magnolia in Bloom” we believe in order to create a timeless piece, we should equip ourselves with best materials and techniques; therefore, our materials have been carefully sourced from best suppliers across Europe and Japan. We use a range of different silk fabrics such as crepes, satins and organzas.

Our flowers are made of the highest quality starched silk fabrics, shaped in to glamorous flowers using the Japanese art of silk flower making, Somebana. Each petal is individually dyed to create a natural pallet of colors.

We pride ourselves for being 100% handmade. All bows and ribbons are made by hand in our studio. While some designs may be later replicated, it is impossible to create the exact same pieces, thus our brides wear an exclusively handmade piece made by “Magnolia in Bloom” artisans.
